The Park City Gallery Stroll takes place on the last Friday of every month., except January (when Sundance Film Festival is taking place). You start at the center where you get a map to 25 galleries in Park City (for most, walking distance). You start off with a beverage and some horsd'oeuvres while listening to live music (all included). Then take your stroll, meet artists, take in the gallery scene. You can purchase tickets in advance or just walk up to the door at 6pm and buy them then. If you come a little earlier, at 5pm there is a "Free Art Talk" about the art exhibits of the month. There's even a prize giveaway at 8:45pm. An inexpensive event that should be taken advantage of, especially if you enjoy art.

Gallery there are often monthly showcased artist receptions that are free and open to the public. Check the Kimball Art Center's website (link above) for this month's schedule and visit the exhibits for delicious eats and artful conversation.

Heber Valley Railroad
Station:450 South 600 West - Heber City, Utah 84032
Tickets Call: (800)888-TIXX  www.hebervalleyrr.org

Taking a ride on the "Heber Creeper" is a favorite among families. It's a historic steam passenger railroad that winds through the scenic Heber Valley and the dramatic mountain landscape of Provo Canyon along the Provo River. They have several different rides during the year for you to choose from (a 3 hour trip, 90 minute trip, combination with rafting, horseback riding, snow tubing at soldier hollow, etc.). Heber City is just a short 20-minute ride from Park City and taking a ride on the railroad is well worth it. Swiss-themed Midway is also just a 10 minute ride from the railroad which is home to the Homestead Resort and Wasatch State Park.

Theatre Events

Egyptian Theatre Company

The Egyptian Theatre is a cool little theater right in the middle of Main Street. Many Sundance Films have premiered here. It's nice that it is right on Main Street so that you can have a nice dinner nearby and then walk to the theatre afterwards.

Location: 328 Main Street
Phone: 435-649-937

They have regular seating and cabaret seating. The cabaret seating are tables for 4 that are in front of the first row regular seating and provide complimentary corkage.

Outdoor Events

Park City is all about the outdoors so there's always something going on, spring, summer, fall or winter. Historic walking tours, marathons, bike races, dogsled races, lots of ski/snowboard events and much more.  Many of the events like bobsled and ski jumping competitions take place at the Park City Olympic Park. During the winter and summer, they even allow the public, at a cost, to ride the bobsled down the track - with an experienced driver, of course.

For more info and a complete list of all events, go to the Park City Events Calendar (Park City Visitor Bureau).
