Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons Resort and Deer Valley all have something going on. I took advantage of The Canyons deal a couple seasons back when I wanted to learn to snowboard. For $50 (now it is only $39!), I got a full day lift ticket, snowboard rental and an all-day lesson. There were only 5 of us in the group which was great because of the extra one-on-one help from the instructor. It was totally worth it and I encourage you to take advantage, especially if you are a first-timer and never been before. Now the time to Do It! Below are the details for each Park City Resort’s discount ski/snowboard lessons. Some deals are for Utah locals only or never-ever skiers and snowboarders.

The Canyons Resort Lessons

Canyons: Lucky 13 Offer…$13 Lift ticket, $13 beginner ski or snowboard lesson (5 hours) and $13 equipment rental. Park City Mountain Resort, already with snow making machines turned on, will be the first to open on November 19th, then The Canyons Resort on November 25th with Deer Valley always last (nothing wrong with that ) on December 3rd. There’s has been talk of an above normal snowfall ski season with La Niña in the works for this winter, an even better reason for getting your ski passes. All three resorts offer various kinds of passes, from full season, mid-week to multi-packs of 5 or 10-day tickets and even better deals for locals.

Park City Mountain Resort has been voted #1 Family Vacation 2012 by Ski Magazine. It is 3,300 acres, spread over eight peaks and nine bowls with 114 trails, one Superpipe and three terrain parks. From December 11th-17th the tickets are priced at $46 and the remainder of the month are $73. Considering a regular full day lift ticket will be somewhere around $90 (official price has not been released yet, TBA), these discount prices are pretty sweet. Now do note that the entire resort and all 114 trails will, most likely, not be open in late November, early December. But it all depends on mother nature. There are other sources you can find listed at our other page, Park City Discount Lift Tickets, such as at Salt Lake and Park City ski shops or from the resorts themselves like “3 out of 7″ day deals but they are usually more in the realm of a 10-20% discount rather than a 40% discount like the Screamin’ Deal at $33 or even $46. As I write this post, there is already days that have sold out of the $33 and $46 days, with a limited number posted on others like, only “11 left” at that price. So go ahead and take a look at the days that still have tickets left and perhaps grab a ticket or two for you and a friend, family member or just treat yourself! It’s time to grab those skis and boards out of storage, get them tuned and waxed to be ready for those soon to come powder days just around the corner. You can also find discount lift tickets for Deer Valley Resort and The Canyons Ski Resort at Liftopia as well.

Related Park City Utah Information:

Park City Discount Lift Tickets – $38.99 Full Day!

Park City Discount Lift Tickets Only $25!

The Canyons Discount Lift Tickets Full Day $65!

<script type="text/javascript"

Beginning on July 3rd, there will be plenty of activities from the resorts and city. Deer Valley Resort will have their Patriotic Music Celebration on July 3 provided by the Utah Symphony. The concert will be from 7:30-9:30 at the outdoor Snowpark Amphitheater. Tickets are $25 for general admission lawn seating. There will be a beverage and food concessions stand open during the concert or bring your own cooler. For more information go to Deer Valley Patriotic Celebration.

Starting at 7:30pm, The Canyons Resort will be having a free concert in the resort village followed by fireworks at 9:30pm. The Disco Drippers will be providing the live music. The venue will be open at 4pm if you want to set up your blankets and chairs early and grab a spot on the lawn. The Cabriolet and Frostwood lifts will be open from 4:00pm – 11:00pm.

The weekly Park Silly Sunday Market will be taking place in town on Saturday instead of Sunday to accomodate the 4th of July parade on Sunday. Sunday morning activities start early with the traditional pancake breakfast from 7am-10pm and 8am 5k Fun Run which benefits the Park City Ski Team. This is followed by the 4th of July Parade downtown starting at 11am. There will be 85 floats in tow celebrating Park City’s history, from “Silver to Snow”. The parade starts at the top of Main Street to the 9th Street intersection, over to Park Avenue and continues to City Park.

Stick around after the parade for music, food and plenty of activities in City Park. From noon to 4pm at the music pavillion, free music from Park City Concerts will be given by Motherlode Canyon Band, The Codi Jordan Band and Tim Wray & Fat Paw among others. There will also be plenty of food and drink and vendor stands selling various items.

Then starting at dusk, ~9:30pm the ultimate fireworks display will begin. They will be shot off at the base of Park City Mountain Resort from the First Time parking lot. You will be able to view the fireworks from all over town, but ideal locations are from the Park City golf course as well as the Aerie and Boot Hill areas. The Holy Water Buffalo Band will be providing live music starting at 8pm at the Corner Store.

So lots to do and enjoy this weekend. Looks like the weather will be pleasant too with mostly sunny skies on Saturday and Sunday, highs in the low 70s.

Related Park City Utah Information:

Park City Food and Wine Classic

Park City December Events and Activities

Park City Historic Walking Tours

<script type="text/javascript"

Note that typically, Deer Valley Resort closes up to one week earlier than The Canyons Ski Resort and Park City Mountain Resort. It’s just how Deer Valley rolls. If your stay is long enough, it is also a good time to visit Utah National Parks. Within in a half day drive from Park City, you can be at Arches, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef National Parks, among others. These parks become crowded during the summer months and can have extremely high temperatures during the day, but during the spring, crowds are low and temperatures are pleasant.

So if you are debating what time of the skiing season to plan your vacation, do not discount the month of April. Now, we cannot make guarantees that April will offer you the best skiing of the season, but more often than not, it is not the worst time of the season for sure. I overheard someone on an airplane once talking to a couple of guys that were going to Utah to do some skiing in December. He said he went to Utah in November/December and the skiing was not so great. Not too surprised. Unless we get some huge snowstorms in November, the skiing can never compare to what it is like from January through April. They do some snowmaking at the resorts, but the machines can never cover all the terrain, especially not off trail, so advanced skiers especially will not be too impressed with the skiing conditions sometimes early in the season.

Next it is time to focus on Park City Summer Activities since the ski season is officially over here in Park City. Would you believe that Snowbird here in Utah, sometimes has stayed opened during the weekends throughout the month of May and sometimes into June?! They sometimes get a ton of snow too during the spring snowstorms. Anyway, there is plenty of things to do in Park City during the summer months so come on out and plan your summer fun mountain vacation!

Related Park City Utah Information:

The Canyons Ski Resort Spring Break and Spring Gruv

Park City Mountain Resort Vacation Packages

The Canyons Resort Season Pass Discounts Ends October 15th

<script type="text/javascript"

Well if you are flying into Salt Lake International Airport via commercial airline (not in your own plane!) and arriving early enough, you can get a free lift ticket for that same day of your arrival to Deer Valley Ski Resort, The Canyons Ski Resort or Park City Mountain Resort simply by saving your boarding pass. It is called the Park City Quick Start Vacation. Here is the low down:

Park City Free Lift Ticket Quick Start Vacation Offer

1) Register for your free lift ticket voucher at Park City Quick Start Offer

2) Bring the voucher, same-day boarding pass and out-of-state id to a lift ticket window at Deer Valley, The Canyons or Park City Resort

3) Get your same-day free lift ticket and enjoy the rest of the day skiing or snowboarding (except no snowboarding at Deer Valley) at the resort of your choice!

Some of the restrictions:

OFFER NOT VALID – 12/25/09-1/2/10, 2/13/10 – 3/27/10

Offer valid for Salt Lake City International Airport arrivals via regularly scheduled commercial airline only

Not valid for Utah residents

Boarding pass must be presented at time of program redemption. There are no exceptions to this rule. So print out 2 copies of your boarding pass, either at home or at the airport kiosks, just to be safe.

Lift tickets are non-transferable, not for resale and have no dollar value

There are some other minor rules & regulations – just follow the Quick Start link above for further details.

I think this is an offer you must take advantage of if you arrive early enough. Heck, even if you can get in only an hour or two, it’s still worth it. You can kind of get a feel of how things works, where the lifts go, slope conditions, etc. – sort of like a dress rehearsal for your paid day of skiing the next day.

Don’t forget to check out other possible lift ticket deals for the rest of your stay at Liftopia Park City Discount Tickets

Park City Discount Lift Tickets – Our summary page of other ways to get Park City lift ticket discounts.

Related Park City Utah Information:

Free Lift Ticket and Snowboard Lesson at The Canyons Ski Resort

Park City Discount Lift Tickets Only $33 Full Day!

The Canyons Ski Resort Free Lift Tickets and Breakfast Lodging Package

<script type="text/javascript"
